A few weeks ago I did a painting of Lands End in Cornwall. A picture of that painting is on the blog. If you scroll downs some it on the right. Using the same photograph, I did another painting with a difference perspective. A picture of that painting is on the right it a 8"x10" oil on panel. Its ok.

I completed a new 9"x12" oil on panel this morning. Its called Scotland 3 and is from a photo I took while in Scotland around Inverness the home of Loch Ness. There are lot of mountains and lakes ( i.e Lochs) within a few hours drive. These make great painting. I have been finding at a little water, blues, at the bottom half of landscape add greatly to the overall look.
I have a blank 48"x60" canvas which I have been thinking about using for a palette knife landscape. My plan is complete a few smaller works to be used as guide for my large painting.
In using a palette knife, I have found that unless you compete the painting in a day or at maximum two days you cannot go back and make changes or corrections. Bummer

Busy Busy. Just finished a new painting an oil 30"x40" on a 2.5" thick gallery wrap canvas. Its called Brandon Bay 2 - Ireland. Worked it from a photograph I took on my Irish painting holiday. Kewl Beans!
I used the color palette and knife technique from the work shop and
did the painting in a few hours. I like it and that is all that counts.

Painted with Southern Colours Friday and completed two 8x10 oils. The one on the left is from Adare Manor in Ireland and the one on the right is from Scotland. I worked from photograph I took while visiting these places. The photographs just gives me a basic idea/concept. I work up the colors from what I feel works together.
