This is a painting that Arleen started. It ended up with everyone in the work shop changing and painting on the piece. The end results was a super duper work of art. Sally is going to donate the painting to Mead Garden where we held the workshop. Kewl Beans

I had a great time at the workshop and picked up some great ideas and techniques. These are three of a number of paintings I completed. The little black spots are bugs. Once the paintings dry they can be flicked off. Because the paint is so thick, it takes a good week to completely dry.
Lessons learned are paint mixing and getting loose. Sally Shisler was the artist giving the workshop. Not only is she a great artist but a wonderful person. I have her blog linked under sites and buds. Check her site out. Kewl Beans!

Painting Friday with the Southern Colours group. I gotten started on the above painting at my studio. The location is a small cove along the Cornwall coast in the little village of Boscastle. In the original photo there are more houses, but I felt this is the only one with charm. Hope to get some comments and recommendation from the group before I get to far along. I like what is happening on the left side and need more refining on the right side. Don't know if I want to put some clouds in the sky.

A big Southern Colours Show at Binders opens this week. Going to hang the show Wednesday. There will be a reception Saturday from 5 pm to 7 pm. This is my first Southern Colours reception, but everyone tells me the food and wine are super duper. Y'all come bring your check book.
