A New Still Life

I decided to work on a new still painting. I gathered a number of interesting items I have around the house that I have collected over the years from various places. I make different arrangements and take a digital photo of each. I then download the pictures to my computer. By doing this, I get a good idea of how the painting will look. There is a lot of trial and error in this method but the results are worth the trouble. The painting is going to be a pastel on a sanded paper. I am using Wallis paper which I do not like, but I am using up my supply. I have recently tried UART sanded paper (P600) and prefer it over the Wallis. The image of the painting will be 18x24. At this point, I do not know if I will frame the work with or without a mat. A number of pastel artists are now framing their works without a mat directly against the glass. There is a photo of still life I elected to paint in this posting. The final painting is still open change or refinement. Anyway, honeybees have hair on their eyes. Bummer! Oh, by the way the painting will be called "Duckie"
